OUR TEAM

Meet the management and inspirations behind our club

Meet the folks who make it all happen. This group of people come from many places around the world. With their enthusiasm and experience, we hope to spread the love and joy of our wonderful sport. Our aim is to integrate more Estonian nationals into this group.

Chris Hale

Chris is the President and Head Coach. Ex professional Rugby League player. Represented England at Rugby 7's and Touch Rugby. Chris has also been Head Coach for Liverpool, Sons of Lazarus since 2013.

Jack Weare

Jack is a level 3 coach, he has spent approximately ten years at Waterloo RUFC. Six years as Captain and has won numerous competitions as a player with Liverpool, Sons of Lazarus.

Eric Shapel

Eric is new to the sport but has taken the role of Club Administrator. Eric has trained and worked with special forces and loves contact sports.

Jenny Cross

Jenny is the club Physiotherapist. Jenny has worked at International level with Wales and Lebanon and is presently with Barrow Braves RLFC and Sons of Lazarus.

Andrew Oakden

Andy is the Club Captain. Andy plays his rugby in Germany for Berlin. Won three major trophies with Sons of Lazarus in 2019 and also became World Beer Pong Champion that same year.

Bob Merrill

Bob is the club logistics expert. Has worked with Sons of Lazarus for 8 years as a player liasion. Bob is an ex-professional Rugby League player.

Curtis Strong

Curtis is a guest player who has previously represented the Estonia Development Squad in 2016. He is presently playing for Rossendale RUFC and Sons of Lazarus.

Danny Whitehead

Danny is a fitness coach. He has represntaed the Estonia Development Squad in 2016 and has had two spells with Sons of Lazarus.

Sam & Joe Below

The two brothers are ambassadors for the club. Both brothers play their rugby for Sale Sharks, in the English Premiership. Their elder brother Tom, who also played for Sale, plays for Liverpool Sons of Lazarus.

The Ginger Pearl

The Ginger Pearl is an inspiration to all rugby players. His performances are almost that of an Urban Legend in the UK 7's arena. The Pearl is seen here playing for the Sons second team, The Brothers of Lazarus in 2022.

Tim 'Furious' Fourie

The ledgendary South Africa international coached at Liverpool, Sons of Lazarus for 5 years. A big favourite with all the players, Tim is an inspiration to the team. Sons of Lazarus also have the charity logo of, 'The Georgia Fourie Buttery Fund', founded by Tim on their shirts.
